Microsoft has launched a scathing attack on Google’s privacy practices in an attempt to win customers over to Outlook.

<p>Microsoft has launched a scathing attack on Google’s privacy practices in an attempt to win customers over to Outlook. The tactic looks to be the work of a former political advisor to Bill and Hillary Clinton.</p>
<p>The campaign is the continuation of a previous attack on the Google Shopping tool. Microsoft is trying to combine both attacks under a somewhat clunky slogan suggesting that customers have been “Scroogled.” <br>
The point of contention here is the way Google’s computers scan the contents of Gmail messages to deliver more relevant advertising at the top of the screen when you read the message. Microsoft contends this is a complete invasion of privacy and that many users are unaware of it. It also stresses that Outlook doesn’t use such tactics.<br>
A dedicated website for the campaign cites a survey of Gmail users that shows 87 percent “believe using email content to serve ads is an invasion of their privacy.” Rather oddly the same survey found that 71 percent of Gmail users were unaware of the practice.<br>
That appears to mean that nearly one in five Gmail users known what Google is doing, think it’s an invasion of privacy, and use the service anyway. It’s certainly a comprehensive piece of work, complete with statistics, quotes (Google chief Eric Schmidt saying “The Google policy on a lot of things is to get right up to the creepy line and not cross it”) and dramatic videos.<br>
One of these even shows a close- up of a face with the eyes reacting to the contents of an e-mail, heavily implying that a human<br>
being reads through Gmail messages. Google says that doesn’t happen, and it’s  certainly a practical impossibility that it’s standard practice. The attacks are said to have had some input from Mark Penn, a former political campaigner who now works for Microsoft. He’s previously told the Wall Street Journal that Microsoft needs to do more to get die-hard Google users to consider breaking their habits. It doesn’t seem as if consumers are too taken with the issue however. As part of the campaign Microsoft has set up a petition trying to force Google to stop scanning e mails. At the time of writing, a mere 2,186 people had signed it.</p>

<i>Judge Lucy Koh have made a series of rulings this week on the ongoing legal battles between the two companies. The various patent claims, based on alleged similarities between smartphones and tablets, are the subject of two totally separate trials, both overseen by Koh.</i><br />
<i>The first was the one that led to a $1.05 billion award against Samsung last year, while the second has yet to get to court and deals with devices released since the original dispute began.</i><br />
<i>On the original trial, Koh has issued four sets of rulings this week. The first is a simple rejection of Samsung’s suggestion that she throw the whole case out and start again because the way she ran the trial hearings wasn’t fair. The second ruling rejects Samsung’s claim that the Apple patents in question were simply too vague to be enforcable.</i><br />
<i>Koh’s third ruling involves the issue of whether Samsung committed its infringement wilfully, meaning it knew it was doing wrong. That can allow a judge to triple a damages award made by a</i><br />
<i>jury. Although the jury said Samsung had acted wilfully regarding five out of the seven cases, Koh has exercised her right to ignore this verdict and leave the damages award untouched. She says that although Samsung did indeed breach the patents and must pay the price for doing so, it reasonably (if incorrectly) believed it was acting within the law.</i><br />
<i>Finally Koh threw out a series of Apple objections that effectively asked her to overturn the jury’s decision to reject some of its patents, along with a request for an extra $400 million in compensation because, well, why not. </i><br />
<i>In effect then, Koh simply said everything decided in the original trial verdict stands. She still has to deal with a Samsung request that either she reduce the $1.05 billion or allow a new jury to decide a new figure, but this doesn’t look particularly likely to happen. Once that’s out the way we can move on to Samsung’s formal appeal against the original verdict.</i><br />
<i>Meanwhile, in the separate second case dealing with the later devices (which is set to make it to court in March 2014), Koh has refused an Apple application for a pre-trial sales ban on Samsung’s Galaxy</i><br />

Google’s dream plan to build their own cellular network just took one massive step closer to becoming a reality. How? The company is quietly building and testing a secret wireless LTE network on its campus in Mountain View, California, the <a href="http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2013/01/23/google-creating-wireless-network-but-for-what/" style="border: none; color: #21759b; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><em style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Wall Street Journal</em></a> reports.</div>

Speculation surrounding Google’s new wireless network started last week when the company asked the Federal Communications Commission for an <a href="https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/els/reports/442_Print.cfm?mode=current&application_seq=54371&license_seq=54896" style="border: none; color: #21759b; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">experimental license</a> for an “experimental radio service.” It requested the FCC to keep the details of the radio service, which covers a two-mile radius, <a href="http://arstechnica.com/business/2013/01/google-testing-new-wireless-network-asks-fcc-to-keep-details-secret/" style="border: none; color: #1e1e1e; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">secret</a>.</div>

Here’re the details so far: the service will utilize frequencies from 2524 to 2625 megahertz, which will be directed through 50 base stations — both indoors and out — and will connect up to 200 devices. The network, according to its application for an experimental license, will use both directional and non-directional antennas and, as wireless engineer <a href="http://stevencrowley.com/2013/01/23/googles-confidential-test-might-be-a-super-dense-lte-network-using-clearwires-spectrum/" style="border: none; color: #21759b; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Steven Crowley</a> writes on his blog, “could have very high capacity for carrying data.”</div>

The frequency spectrum Google will be using is currently controlled by Clear wire Corp., a corporation which provides wireless broadband in a “licensed spectrum,” according to the WSJ. The spectrum has the potential of being more reliable than modern Wi-Fi signals. That reliability is also why Dish Network offered to buy <a href="http://allthingsd.com/20130108/dish-network-makes-5-15-billion-offer-for-clearwire/" style="border: none; color: #21759b; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Clearwire for $5.15 billion</a> and is also why Google is negotiating with Dish to get a slice of that spectrum pie. Clearwire, however, is currently owned by Sprint, which isn’t too excited about the offer.</div>

Regardless of spectrum politics, Crowley suspects that the only reason to use these frequencies is to test or provide a mobile service. Another source tells the journal that Google may be trying to push a wireless service on its <a href="http://tech.blorge.com/Structure:%20/2013/01/12/googles-fiber-experiment-is-failing-but-there-still-may-be-hope/" style="border: none; color: #21759b; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Google Fiber</a> customers.</div>

By this time electric-gas hybrids are rather common place.  Just about every automobile manufacturer has at least one model hybrid like this.  Then there are electric cars that are still a novelty for most people because of the still high purchase price.  Now Peugeot has decided to produce a different type of hybrid that uses compressed air with a gasoline engine to improve mileage and reduce emissions.  According to Peugeot, this type of hybrid could have a lower purchase price and maintenance cost than either electric-gas hybrids and electric cars while producing greatly reduced pollution.</div>

Gizmag reports that one reason why Peugeot’s new hybrid could cost less on both the original purchase price and maintenance is because compressed air tanks cost less than the massive battery packs that cars like Toyota’s Prius require.  Those battery packs are not only expensive but they are also heavy.  When they have to be replaced they cost around $4,500.  Unlike most auto parts, the hybrid system and battery pack can only be purchased from the dealer keeping the price high.</div>

The new hybrid, the PSA Peugeot Citroën, will be able to run in three different modes like most other hybrids.  It can run in gas only mode, compressed air only mode or combined mode.  Even when the car runs only on gas, Peugeot claims that there is a five percent fuel savings over comparable gas only cars.  The gas engine is used almost exclusively for speeds over 43 mph unless there is a need for rapid acceleration or you are driving up hill then the combined mode kicks in.</div>

The company claims that in Urban driving the car will show a 45 percent savings in fuel and a 90 percent increase in range because the compressed air system is expected to run 80 percent of the time.  Total combined city, highway fuel savings is expected to be 35 percent.</div>

The compressed air cylinder runs underneath the center of the car and doesn’t reduce storage space in the trunk nor does it add all the weight of a battery pack.  Regenerative braking helps recharge the tank similar to regenerative braking in electric and electric hybrid systems. Should the tank need to be replaced, the cost is much lower than replacing the hybrid systems in gas-electric cars.</div>

Acer reports that around five to ten percent of its shipments to the US since November have been Chromebooks and that it expects to maintain that percentage in the long-term. HP hasn’t yet made an official announcement, but mistakenly put up a document on its website detailing what it will call a Pavillion Chromebook. The most notable point there is that the device will apparently sport a 14 inch screen, well above the biggest Chromebook models already available.</div>

There’ll be a price to pay though: battery life looks to be considerably reduced, down to a little over four hours. That said, with it being so reliant on an internet connection, it may be a device most users will run near a power point anyway.</div>

Lenovo has confirmed it will release both laptop and desktop machines running the Chrome OS this year. Perhaps surprisingly it looks to be targeting business users as much as consumer. Its thinking is that businesses will be prepared to pay a reasonable price for the device in the knowledge (and/or hope) that it will save in the long run by not having to spend as much licensing Microsoft products, paying for support, or dealing with the hassle of malware threats.</div>

The big drawback is the cost of lost productivity while staff get used to the new systems and replacement applications. The extent of that problem will depend a lot on what type of work people do and whether they use more complicated features of tools such as Microsoft Office.</div>

That change is manifested in the Z10, BlackBerry’s widely anticipated touch-screen phone, which will launch mid-March in the U.S. for $199, according to <em style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">The Verge</em>. The phone will be offered in black and white, though the white model is exclusive to Verizon. As for guts, the Z10 features a dual-core CPU, a 4.2-inch display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage (expandable to 48GB with a microSD card), a front-facing 2 megapixel camera, and a 8 megapixel rear-facing camera. Both cameras, notes The Verge, are capable of HD video (1080 for the rear camera, 720 for the front). Those residing in the U.K. will be able to get the Z10 on Thursday, January 31st.</div>

The BlackBerry Q10, which is set to launch much later than the Z10, will feature a physical QWERTY keyboard — a favorite of many BlackBerry fans — and a touch-screen. Access to the Q10 was heavily restricted, so details on its internal features are scant.</div>

But will a simple name-change and what some reporters consider to be BlackBerry’s most competitive phones in history be enough to save the company? The game has already been announced for the PS3 and Xbox 360, so it would have taken some kind of covert, under-the-radar operation for either Sony or Microsoft to influence the timing of the release. <p> Recently many accidents are occuring in southern india. I have witnessed many in front of my own eyes. Its so haunting to see an accident in front of your own eye. I have thought of it and found some  reasons for accidents that occur more frequently than others.<br/></p>
<p><em><large>Few Main Causes:</large></em><br/>
<ol>
<li><em>Traffic Control Unit:</em> There might be a problem in traffic control unit. They won't be maintaining it properly.</li>
<li> <em>No Traffic Lights:</em><br/>
There might be no traffic light. Even it is present it won't be proper or may be out of order.</li>
<li> <em>Usage of Phone:</em><br/>
Due to use of mobile phone's while driving</li>
<li> <em>Caring not to see:</em><br/>
Not keeping their mind on driving and thinking of something else while driving.<br/>  And these are mainly to those of working categories, who always think of while driving. </li>
<li><em>Overspeeding: </em><br/>
They might be trying to impress their friends or being hurry to reach someplace might cause accidents</li>
<li><em> Drink Driving:</em><br/>
Around 250 people die a year in
crashes in which someone was
over the legal drink drive limit.</li>
<li> <em>Wearing Seat Belt:</em><br/>
Around 300 lives each year could
be saved if everyone wore
their seat belt regularly. (People won't wear their seat beats. They think that it's uncomfortable while driving, which actually leads to accidents. There is a saying "No Pain,No Gain" it actually suits this case)</li>
<li><em> Careless Driving:</em><br/>
More than 300 deaths a year
involve someone being "careless,
reckless or in a hurry", and a
further 125 involve "aggressive
driving". <br/> Youths are always aggressive drivers. They won't understand that they have more years to live than their elders, who actually drive slow compared to youths. Because they know the "value of their life".</li>
<li> <em>Loss of Control:</em><br/>
One third of fatal crashes involved
‘loss of control’ of a vehicle. Failed
to Judge Other Person’s Path/
SpeedOne in five crashes involve a
road user failing to judge another
person’s path or speed.</li>

<p>"Precaution is better than cure"<br/>
<em><large>Precautions:</large></em>
<ol>
<li><em> Power Check:</em><br/>
When checking your vehicle, the
POWER check is the easiest to
remember. This stands for Petrol,
Oils, Water, Electric, and Rubbers.
Everything under each heading
should be visually checked at least
once per week.</li>
<li><em>Two-Second gap:</em><br/>
At all times maintain a two-
second gap from the vehicle
ahead, no matter what speed you
are travelling. When it is raining, a
foggy night, or any combination of
these, the gap should be doubled
to four seconds.</li>
<li><em>Safety Gap between Vehicles:</em><br/>
When you stop behind another
vehicle in a line of traffic, always
ensure you are able to clearly see
the bottom of the vehicle's rear
tyres. This ensures you are not too
close to the other vehicle. Also, as
you commence to move your two-
second gap will already be in
place.</li>
<li><em>Keep Left:</em><br/>
Keep to the left at all times unless
overtaking. The right hand lane is
for overtaking, or turning right. Use
it for driving straight through only
if the left lane is obstructed by
road works or parked vehicles, or if
it is not useable for any reason.

When you stop at the lights or at a
stop sign, your car should be
behind the thick stop line. There
are some intersections, where if
you stop over the stop line and a
truck or bus turns into the street
that you are leaving; it will collide
with your vehicle.</li>
<li><em>Plan ahead:</em><br/>
Always plan well ahead. Your line
of sight should travel parallel to
the road, not down onto it. This
makes it easier for you to prepare
for anything that may happen long
before you get there.</li>
<li><em>Overtaking</em><br/>
Overtaking is probably one of the
most dangerous manoeuvres a
driver can perform, especially on a
two-way carriageway. Quite often
the vehicle you overtake is only
travelling slightly slower than you
are. Make sure that you have
enough room to go well past the
overtaken vehicle before you move
back to the left. Don't cut them
off.</li>
<li><em>Anti-lock braking systems (ABS)</em><br/>
Anti-lock braking systems (ABS)
Prevent the wheels of a vehicle
from locking under emergency
braking. They enable steering
control with the brakes fully
operating, enhancing the driver’s
chances of avoiding a hazard.
ABS does not necessarily stop a
vehicle in a shorter distance than
ordinary brakes. If you drive a
vehicle with ABS, still keep the
same two-second gap from the
vehicle in front. ABS should only
be relied upon in an emergency
braking situation.</li>
<li><em>Drive smoothly:</em><br/>
Drive smoothly and make
decisions early so that you can
accelerate, brake and change gears
smoothly. It will make your vehicle
last longer, cost you less, and it is
far more comfortable for your
passengers. Rough acceleration,
braking, or steering, can easily
cause your car to skid.</li>
<li><em>Negotiating a curve:</em><br/>
When you are negotiating a curve
in the road, try to flatten the curve
out as much as you can. This will
give you a better view around the
curve, a smoother path and it will
decrease the potential of the car
commencing to skid. For a left
curve, approach as near as is safe
to the right of your lane, when you
can see where the road straightens
out ahead, gently move across to
the left of the lane and finish back
in the middle of your lane. Use the
opposite sequence for a right
curve.</li>
<li><em>Night driving:</em><br/>
Night driving can be quite difficult.
Oncoming vehicles' headlights can
dazzle you and you must keep
alert to the lights and reflectives of
cyclists and motorcyclists.
Pedestrians can be impossible to
see. Traffic lights can appear to
blend in with advertising signs.
Leave yourself more space from
the car in front, as this will create
more time for you to be able to
see what is ahead and prepare for
anything that may happen.</li>
<li><em>Driver courtesy:</em><br/>
Be courteous and share the road:
Allow other drivers to merge or
change lanes easily.
Only use your horn as a
warning sound and do not use
it out of frustration.
Always try to stay relaxed and
concentrate on your own
driving and safety rather than
the behaviour of others.
Don't gesture to other drivers
or engage in arguments.
Be forgiving of other drivers’
mistakes.
Don't take your personal
frustration out on the road.
Be aware of the needs of other
drivers, and all other road
users like pedestrians, cyclists,
motorcyclists and heavy
vehicles.</li>
<li><em>Personal safety:</em><br/>
While driving, take some personal
safety precautions:
While in your car, keep the
doors locked at all times.
If you find yourself being
followed while driving, try to
keep calm and maintain your
driving skills. Go to the nearest
police station, petrol station or
well-lit convenience store. Only
leave your car when you feel
the threat has passed. Report
the incident to the police.
Plan your trip in advance so
that you are not sitting in your
car with the light on reading
the street directory at night.</li>
<li><em>Be prepared in case of
breakdowns or trouble:</em><br/>
Try to carry pen and paper, a
torch, a phone card and
emergency numbers with your
at all times.
It is also a good idea to invest
in either a mobile phone or
personal alarm for safety
reasons. If you can't afford
these, a cheaper alternative is
a whistle to blow and attract
attention if you are in danger.
If you break down, try to leave
the car in a safe, well-lit spot.
Put your bonnet up and turn
on your hazard lights. If you
have to call for assistance,
ensure the car is secure and
go to the nearest phone.
If someone stops to assist, do
not get into a stranger's car.
Give them your details and ask
them to call for assistance.</li>
<li><em>Park safely:</em><br/>
Try to park in a place
where there will be plenty
of people around and that
is well lit.
Avoid parking too close to
walls and hedges.
Never leave valuables like
purses, wallets or mobile
phones in your car. Move
things into the boot before
you leave, rather than
when you arrive at the
destination.
Have your keys ready to
open the car, rather than
rummaging through your
bag to find them.
If it is dark, have someone
accompany you to your
car. Try to avoid multi-
storey car parks.
Never double park or park
in a clearway, as this is a
dangerous practice and
puts other road users at
risk. </li></ol></p>

<p>Hackers have already entered facebook. You might have experienced more and more sercurity and ristriction in fb. Its due to the increased number of hachers in the <a href="www.facebook.com" title="Go to Facebook">facebook</a>. At first they made facebook easy to hack and even there are youtube video's how hack to facebook(some won't work due to change in the facebook codings). But its my responsibility as a google+ user and a former facebook user to inform you to keep safety of your account. Here are some precautionary measures to ensure your account.</p><br/>
<h2 ><em>Precautions:</em></h2>
<ol><li>Keep your password to yourselves. Don't give it your friends or any advertising companies.</li>
<li>Change your password every once in while. Don't keep a same password for a long period.</li>
<li>Set your password with alphabets and numbers. Don't keep your name or anything which might be easy to guess has a password. It might be easy to be hacked.</li>
<li> The most important thing is not to accept/send friend request from  stranger's.</li>
<li> Don't give your password and facebook id for any unknown app or website without reading about app/website. These apps/website's maybe created by hacker's to access your id and password. So always be care full of this.</li>

So Use these tips and protect your account.
